2 Day Ground Movement Workshop: Berlin, Germany
September 23-24, 2023
$ 700.00

What is the Ground Movement Workshop?

This unique Ground Movement Workshop is based on the science around the Neuro-Development Sequence. This is how human beings have learned to move since birth but also at any age and for any level of athletic performance. The movements we learn in early childhood build the foundations of a balanced body, mind and soul well into adolescence and adulthood.

By taking you down to the floor (supine, prone, quadrupedal, sitting, kneeling, and getting up), this 2-day workshop will teach – or re-teach – you the skills that came with your exploration of the world in your early years, helping you to unlock long-lost movements.

Enjoy the integration of movement theory and practice through Natural Ground Movement positions, transitions, and improvisational and playful flows!

What will you do in this workshop?

  • Learn the basic structure of the Neurodevelopmental Sequence, including positions, transitions & breathing.
  • Apply these principles to adult fitness training through natural ground movement flows and get-ups.
  • Discuss how to integrate these principles into areas of healthcare, health management, natural movement skill development (MovNat), and injury prevention & rehabilitation.

What is the science behind the workshop?

Ground Movement is based on skills that enable the development of the higher levels of locomotion such as walking, running and jumping that we all take for granted today, but are mostly lost through a sedentary lifestyle, the emphasis of safety over risk taking and the human separation from his internal and external nature.

Thanks to our modern lifestyle, we increasingly lose the basic conditions, patterns and capacity to perform fundamental movements such as rolling, crawling, squatting, and even breathing.

Understanding this instinctive behavior of Human Natural Movement offers enormous potential for reestablishing lost fundamental conditions like mobility, stability, patterns, strength, movement and neuroplasticity.

Bernd Reicheneder, MovNat Team Instructor & Master Trainer

Meet the Instructor

I’ve always been busy and adventurous. Exploring and playing in nature is part of my village culture and upbringing. Sport & fitness became an integral part of my life from childhood on.

I began practicing Shotokan karate seriously at a young age and practiced actively for over 20 years, because I loved the deep philosophy and the enhanced techniques of this extremely aesthetic martial art.

After successfully completing a Diploma in Sports Science in 2005 and a Magister Artium in Classical Archeology in 2010, I worked in the classic fitness industry and in company sports for various companies in Germany.

I grew more specialized in the direction of movement screening, function and movement restoration. During the intensive work with Muscle Function Diagnostics and the Functional Movement Screen, I looked for ways to individually determine the movement and posture problems of my customers through testing and to restore them with targeted mobility, strength and movement training.

After I got to know Vic Verdier, the right hand man of MovNat founder Erwan Le Corre, at a MovNat workshop in Berlin in 2011, I intuitively decided to focus all of my work on MovNat and similar methods for restoring the evolutionary-biological needs of humans to crown my previous work with MovNat. It became clear very quickly. The transfer of knowledge about therapy, restoration and maintenance of the independent and natural health of people. In this area, I am considered a pioneer of Natural Movement in Europe.
