Julius and Fame
Julius
Camarilla: If Julius goes into torpor, burn him.
If Julius with fame goes to torpor, does the fame trigger? Do I lose 3 pool?

Fame
Master
Unique master.
Put this card on a ready vampire. If this vampire goes to torpor, his or her controller burns 3 pool. While this vampire is in torpor, each Methuselah burns 1 pool during his or her untap phase.
This is really a timing question.
Both Fame and Julius's special activate at the same time: "If this vampire/Julius goes to/into torpor", according to text.
The acting player should be able to order these effects.
Julius goes to torpor.
Player A chooses to burn Julius before burning 3 pool.
The Fame is no longer in play. Does Player burn 3 pool?
The answer is "Yes", not because Fame triggers before Julius burns, but because Fame's text was in play when the triggering effect occurred.

Why, since the effect has been triggered? The Fame being there or not is no longer relevant, just as an ally that would burn during strike resolution would still inflict his strike damage.brandonsantacruz wrote: With no Julius in play for Fame you should not have to resolve Fame.

That's the right answer by inappropriate reasoning - strikes are handled simultaneously, so the ally has inflicted the damage even though he is then exploding himself. Once damage has been applied, it then doesn't disappear just because a combatant is unreadied. [LSJ 20070409]
Other effects (at least, the vast majority of other effects) aren't simultaneous in that way.
The issue here is that the two effects are both triggered on entering torpor, but are not simultaneously handled. Those two effects have to be ordered, because they don't happen simultaneously (like the strikes did). And the answer is that if a thing is triggered, it still happens, even if the source of the thing leaves play. Setting the order of effects can change the overall outcome (e.g. "using up" an effect on a player who is then ousted, vs ousting the player and still having that second effect to apply), so it can be important.
Examples:

Yes.

Assuming he chooses to order it that way, yeah.

And referenced by that ruling:

Correct.
