Hi guys,

I am planning to use "The Line" from the new set, but am uncertain when you should use it:

1) When announcing the action
2) When the action is succesful
3) Both of the above

Unique location. Lock to reduce the cost of an action card played by a vampire you control by 1 blood (this location is not locked if the card is canceled as it played). Any vampire can steal this location as a (D) action.

It doesn't specify, so either is possible.

Q: When do I lock The Line to reduce the cost of the action card?
A: You can lock it when you announce the action (for instance, if your vampire couldn't pay for the card otherwise), or anytime during the action. This works the same way as Sunset Strip, Hollywood. If the action card is canceled as it is announced, The Line isn't locked (as it is reminded on the card).

Practically you only want to tap it once the action is successful, as otherwise it might be 'wasted' if the action is blocked and no cost is paid.

Except, practically, it may make an action affordable that was otherwise unaffordable, allowing you to take it in the first place. e.g. making a 2 blood action affordable by a vampire with 1 blood.

The various rulings I cite over here about Sunset Strip are relevant to The Line.
