To be or not to be a discipline (Striga)
The symbol to the left on e.g. Strix looks like a discipline, and since there only can be discipline, clan or cost in the left column, can can a vampire with Infernal pact play Strix on superior?
There is not a bold text on top of the card saying that "Striga" is not a disciplin. It only write so at the inferior level.
Nothing on Strix at Surperior says that Striga isent a Disciplin
Nothing in the rules say it isent a disciplin (since the rule do not says what disciplins there are)
I am not talking about the inferior version, becouse thats a different discussion.

Strix
infernal pact
Unique master.
Put this card on a Tremere antitribu you control and choose a Discipline. The vampire with this card can play cards that require that Discipline as though he or she has the superior version of that Discipline
(heh, even on this site it clains that Striga is a disciplin when using the striga symbol ;o)
Yes, in many cases. Not always.Jesper wrote: According the rules ”In many cases, a minion card will have a Discipline symbol, a clan symbol and/or a blood cost; in these cases, the card can only be played by a vampire who meets the requirements.”
Like Canada Dry. It looks like a discipline (a bad design choice maybe), but it's not (cardtext).Jesper wrote: The symbol to the left on e.g. Strix looks like a discipline,
Where the hell did you read that?Jesper wrote: and since there only can be discipline, clan or cost in the left column
Since the premise is wrong, the rest is moot.
The topic also has been discussed here:

There's no need to recreate a topic.

Maleficia and Striga are disciplines, as per the rules:
vekn.net/card-lists/143-heirs-to-the-blood
Maleficia and Striga: Two new Disciplines that are only available to infernal vampires. The same way that Caitiff is not a clan, these are not true Disciplines, however (so just like "Caitiff" cannot be chosen for Consanguineous Boon, Ian Forestal couldn't use his ability to meet a Striga requirement, for example, nor could Maleficia be chosen as one of the Great Beast's Disciplines).
Striga
Master
Master: trifle.
Put this card on an infernal vampire. This vampire may play cards that require Striga [str] (not a Discipline). With two of these cards, he or she may play cards that require superior Striga [STR] . Burn this card if this vampire is not infernal.
The Rulebook wrote: 1.4. The Golden Rule for Cards
Whenever the cards contradict the rules, the cards take precedence.
It is not a discipline because the card overrides the rules, because the rules say the card overrides the rules.

i really wish they'd inverted the colors and just made a new class of thingy called non-discipline skills. That way Flight could be folded into that and be given a superior, and we wouldn't have the confusion that we do now.
