The following stats have been taken from the tournaments held in Spain in the 2011-2012 tournament season.

Number of tournaments: 64

Finals that timed out: 18 (28,125%)

Finals that did not time out: 46 (71,875%)

Number of tournaments won by the top seed player: 24 (37,5%)

Timed-out finals (18) won by the top seed player: 9 (50%)

I have also calculated the stats by tournament size:

20+ player tournaments: 11
Timed-out finals: 6 (54,54%)

11-19 player tournaments: 36
Timed-out finals: 15 (41,66%)

10- player tournaments: 17
Timed-out finals: 5 (29,41%)

tournaments organized by the Hispanic Conclave (The Spanish VTES

If you reed my post again, you will see that it's divided in two parts:

Part one: referring to the 64 tournaments held in the 2011-2012 tournament season.

Part two: referring to older data I posted to the newsgroup back in 2007. Those stats were taken from the archons of the tournaments run by the Hispanic Conclave in the previous four years (2002-2007).
