The Pokéthulhu Adventure Game
The Monster In Your Pocket is
Cuddly, Evil, and Itching for Action!
|
Amid the sagging gables of old New England, evil lurks . . . and squirms, and scuttles, and purrs. Grownups are fleeing in terror, hiding behind the Elder Sign. You're 10 years old. You're our last hope. Armed with a Shining Dodecahedron and the elder incantations to make it work, you capture the monsters and train them to use their power . . . But not for evil. For sport. You've thrilled to the popular TV show. Now, you can play the game! Is your Shoplifting score good enough to sneak a page from your opponent's Pokénomicon? Is your trained Jigglypolyp powerful enough to defeat a devolved Fungal Cluster? This is the world of Pokéthulhu, and now it's yours to save - or conquer!
A Little History . . . The Cumberland Games edition of Pokéthulhu is the third and ultimate (in every sense of the word) form of the game, but this game has been around the block a little before it finally came home to rest. Squishy Brain Games published the (very rare) first edition in the summer of 2000, and Dork Storm Press published the well-known second edition in 2001. The second edition added several features, including Over Cold Mountain and John Kovalic's What's-an-RPG? comic featuring his Dork Tower characters. The current (third) edition is a free game, including the complete content of all previous editions, edited, revised, and expanded with yet-more new material including lots of fan-designed thulhu, the long-awaited Chaos Cards rules (introduced at the first World Pokethulhu Tournament two years ago and finally made public), and more! Download the Game! Click here to visit DriveThru RPG where you can snag your copy (it's free), or visit the Cumberland freebie page where you can snag several other items you might enjoy! The Pokéthulhu Adventure Game is ready-to-play and authorized by the producers of the Pokéthulhu TV show, comics and films (the thulhu themselves even use the same stats as the Pokéthulhu Collectible Card Game, so if you've got a stack of cards you've got a pile of extra thulhu, ready to go)! Get yours and play! You can also read this translation to Polish! Surf the Web! If you know of any Pokéthulhu-related websites that I'm missing, let me know!
