A vampire can recruit any number of different retainers each turn, without any special card.
The Summoning allows you to recruit an additional copy of any retainer you've already recruited this turn (or you are going to recruit later) because the action "The Summoning" is different from the action "Raven Spy" for instance.

The Summoning doesn't employ retainers. It puts retainers into hand.

It can put the same ally into play at superior that was recruited normally.

That's why cardtext should be always included.
