It wouldn't make those vampires any better though. They would still be overshadowed by actually good (or more consistent) big caps or stars. Pentex is not what is forcing those vampires to lag behind. It's the rest of the card pool and those vampires and decks that are simply better than them.

If you want to play original vampires and deck ideas, do so. Just, don't blame Pentex if they face problems. Pentex has little to do with those problems. If anything, it should be an aid against decks that would otherwise trump those more original ones with better consistency.

The idea that pentex is enabling all star decks rather than hindering them seems far fetched at best.

Not exactly what I meant. What I mean is that banning Pentex would not make more obscure star vampires more playable. That move would benefit more consistent vampires and decks even more.

The solution wouldn't be the one you're looking for, I'd argue.

Anyways, this thread isn't about Pentex, and I'm not willing to open that can of worms more than this. Tiers though - carry on!

I am. I honestly think that people's complaints about Pentex are one of the most obscure and unrealistic worries you could have in VtES.

Without getting too "in the weeds" with Pentex, I'd say it is a huge determent to "all star" style decks. That being said, I don't know of any all star decks that break the mold creatively speaking. The best big vampires are the ones that do what other decks do but better.

As far as tier lists, I think archetypes are easier to wrap your head around than full deck lists. There's a lot of decks that fall in the tier 3-5 level that there aren't good versions of readily available.

Fair enough. Without getting too much into it I would say that pentex combined with large bleed numbers makes for some unrewarding gameplay.
