New Publisher Announced for Lone Wolf Books 18-28!

Mantikore-Verlag and I are very pleased to announce that an agreement has been put in place to publish Lone Wolf books 18-28. These will be high quality English language hard cover editions and will be produced in the same format as the Mongoose LW Collector Editions to maintain the integrity of the series. Matthew Sprange has kindly agreed to provide us with the necessary files for LW18 Dawn of the Dragons so that it can go to print as soon as possible. Mantikore-Verlag are aiming to release Lone Wolf 18 in time for the RPC in Köln, Germany, on June 1st 2013. I shall be attending the show. If you would like to go on the mailing list for news about LW18, send an email to mantikoreverlag@aol.com with LONE WOLF in the header bar.

For you, for me, for Sommerlund and the Kai!

Cessation of the Lone Wolf Collector Editions by Mongoose Publishing Ltd.

As of Feb 27, 2013, Mongoose Publishing Ltd no longer has a license to produce any Lone Wolf books and games. All rights have now reverted to me.

Termination of Mongoose Publishing’s Lone Wolf gamebooks and RPG range has been actioned by mutual consent of the author and the publisher. Contractually, I am unable to publish or discuss the terms of my severance agreement.

All Mongoose Mega-deal customers who have queries about their existing deals, such as shop credit or refunds, should direct their enquires to Matthew Sprange, CEO of Mongoose Publishing, by email at msprange@mongoosepublishing.com.

If you have pre-paid for books that were out of print and awaiting a reprint, Mongoose Publishing have been given permission to reprint these books in small quantities in order that these pre-orders can be fulfilled. Mongoose Publishing have undertaken to dispatch these reprints to you before the end of March 2013.

I’m sure this news will come as a disappointment to many, but as one door closes, so others swing open. I am currently in discussion with publishers who are seeking to pick up the Collector Series, and the Multi-player Game Book series. I will post progress updates on this site, so be sure to check the Project Aon ‘What’s New’ page for news. Better still, subscribe to the Project Aon news announcements and these updates will be sent to you automatically.

I am committed in my desire to continue production of the Collector Series in the same style and format established in books 1-17. This is to ensure the continuity of the collection.

I am committed to completing the series in its entirety and to bringing the Lone Wolf saga to its exciting conclusion. I am deeply appreciative of the loyalty and support of my devoted readers, many of whom have grown up reading my adventures and continue to read and enjoy them today. Thank you all for your wonderful support and please be assured that the cessation of my business relationship with Mongoose Publishing does not mean an end to the series; it is the start of a new phase in the evolution of Lone Wolf.

For you, for me, for Sommerlund and the Kai!

For centuries the Shom’zaa has lain incarcerated and forgotten in a granite prison located deep below the mountains of Bor. Now this terrifying beast has accidentally been set free, and its hunger for vengeance knows no bounds. With a horde of vile minions at its command, swiftly the Shom’zaa enacts its sinister plan to destroy King Ryvin and the wondrous realm of the Drodarin dwarves.

In The Fall of Blood Mountain, you must journey to the fabulous subterranean kingdom of the dwarves and attempt to save your ancient allies from the wrath of the Shom’zaa. Will you succeed in your mission or will you succumb to the terrible powers of this ancient champion of Evil?

Maps of Magnamund update

To get the New Year off to a great start, Joe Dever is offering Free Shipping Worldwide on the Maps of Magnamund Set 1. The offer ends Jan 31, 2013.

I got my set for Christmas, and they look great. I am sorely tempted to frame one of them and put it on the wall of my study.

Thrice Good News from Project Aon

I have three bits of good news that I hope will brighten your week.

First is that we have published five new ebook formats for Lone Wolf 1-25. This includes mobi files for the Kindle and other devices, and epub files for many devices including the Nook. Much of the credit for this accomplishment goes to Javier. There are some known limitations of these formats, but if you spot any problems, please drop us a line so we can improve them.

Second, while it isn’t as sexy as new ebook files, during the time after publishing Trail of the Wolf almost a year and a half ago that we at Project Aon seem to have been stalled we have been taking the time to revisit the books that we’d already published. Over the years, we’d received lots of reports about problems with the books, but we just hadn’t found the time to fix them. So we paused and took care of that. Now we have republished Lone Wolf 1-25 and World of Lone Wolf (i.e. Grey Star) 1-4, including in all of our newest formats.

That brings me to my last bit of good news. Now that we’ve taken care of that, we can now move on to tackling the last three Lone Wolf books. Perhaps I’m too optimistic, but our lists of issues to address in these last three books are pretty short, so I’m hoping that they don’t take too long. So stay tuned.

For Sommerlund and the Kai!

Maps of Magnamund Collection

Following the success of the World of Magnamund poster map that Joe Dever and Francesco Mattioli launched last year, they are very pleased to announce the publication of an exciting new Lone Wolf cartography project: the Maps of Magnamund Collection – Set 1.

The Maps of Magnamund Collection will comprise 36 beautifully detailed Map Boards in total. A new set of 4 Map Boards will be published regularly, every 4-5 months, until the collection is complete.

These Map Boards are an original RPG concept. They combine a highly detailed colour map on the front, with a world grid and useful background information about the map area depicted on the reverse. Many new geographical features are included, along with special sites and locations never revealed before. There are also scenario ideas for RPG adventures specific to each area.

The Map Boards measure 233mm x 328mm (about 9″ x 13″) and are printed in color on strong 300gsm laminated art board. They come individually packed and labeled in a zip-loc bag. They are very collectable and ideal for framing & mounting.

Set 1 contains the following 4 Map Boards:

#1 Sommerlund (reverse)
#2 Durenor (reverse)
#3 Vassagonia (reverse)
#4 Dessi (reverse)

Set 2 will be available in March 2013. It will contain the following 4 Map Boards:

#5 Kakush and Valerion
#6 The Galdonlands
#7 The Stornlands
#8 Talestria

The official release date for Set 1 is November 1st, at the Lucca Comics and Games Show, Italy. The cost per set (4 Map Boards) is GBP11.99 / €13.99 / US$19.00. Mongoose Publishing are now taking pre-orders which they will ship worldwide on Nov 14.

Joe and Francesco will be adding the new Map Boards to their Lone Wolf maps website on Friday Nov 9. All Map Boards purchased directly from their website with be signed by Joe personally.

Update: I’ve just learned that Vincent Lazzari and Florent Haro of Scriptarium helped with the creation of these maps and are also currently offering preorders from their website.

Update 2: There’s now direct link to get signed copies.
