Lone Wolf Adventure Game Coming to Kickstarter

Lone Wolf Adventure Game

The RPG company Cubicle 7 has announced a forthcoming Kickstarter campaign for a Lone Wolf Adventure Game.

Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf gamebooks introduced a generation to fantasy gaming – now, in Lone Wolf’s 30th Anniversary year, the legend continues with the Lone Wolf Adventure Game. Epic quests, desperate battles and ancient secrets await you!

Our goal is to produce a game accessible to new and younger gamers – the perfect first roleplaying game – that grows and develops with the players’ abilities to give the depth of game play appealing to more experienced gamers.

You’ll explore the wonderful world of Magnamund, a setting that has been brought to life over more than 30 years of development. From fertile Sommerlund to the arid deserts of Vassagonia, the fetid depths of the Danarg swamp to the despoiled wasteland of the Darklands, an evocative and fully-realised world of adventure awaits you.

On a personal note as a father, I’m looking forward to the chance to play a Lone Wolf game with my children. I hope this happens.

We’ll let you know when the Kickstarter campaign goes live.

Congratulations

Hi Jon and all at Project Aon.

My sincere congratulations on your remarkable achievement of publishing all 28 of the Lone Wolf gamebooks. What a wonderful 30th anniversary present to have Lone Wolf 28: The Hunger of Sejanoz published precisely 30 years after the first publication of Lone Wolf 1: Flight from the Dark! You have fulfilled and exceeded the mission you undertook fifteen years ago, and you’ve created an exceptional Lone Wolf resource and archive that stands as testament to your steadfast skill and dedication.

Thank you so much for keeping the Kai flag flying high.

The Hunger of Sejanoz Published!

A visit to the fabulous court of Xo-lin is disrupted when news of the invasion arrives at the venerable emperor’s palace in Pensei. The evil Autarch Sejanoz of Bhanar has launched a sudden and devastating attack upon Xo-lin’s ancient realm. With the tyrant’s armies swarming across his borders, the aged Xo-lin is forced to flee his imperial palace and seek sanctuary in the distant city of Tazhan.

In The Hunger of Sejanoz, your mission is to escort the aged emperor and his entourage safely across the Great Lissan Plain to Tazhan. Will you succeed in your perilous task … or will you and your charges fall victim to the merciless forces of the Autarch?

We’ve published the last book in the Lone Wolf series! This comes 30 years after Flight from the Dark was first published in 1984 and nearly 15 years since the beginning of Project Aon in 1999. As always, we hope you enjoy.

But we at Project Aon are not done yet. We will soon begin working on the rest of the Freeway Warrior series, Joe Dever’s excellent post-apocalyptic gamebooks.

For Sommerlund and the Kai!

March 11, 2013: The Italian Videogame Developers Publishers Association (AESVI ) presented the second Italian edition of “The Golden Dragon Awards”, the official awards dedicated entirely to excellence in the world of video games in Italy.

The “Golden Dragon” is based on the established industry awards of other major countries, such as the American Golden Joystick awards and the British BAFTA Video Games Awards, which are greatly valued and appreciated by the gaming community worldwide.

The Golden Dragon is designed to reward the best video games published during the year and now includes 17 categories and a special section devoted to Italian video games.

A highly qualified jury chose the pick of nominees in each category, taking into consideration all the games released during the calendar year 2013. In February, the same jury determined the winners, which were announced during the final awards ceremony in Rome at the prestigious headquarters of ‘Auditorium MAXXI ‘– the National Museum of XXI Century Arts.

On behalf of the development team , Forge Reply, I am delighted to announce that ‘Blood on the Snow’ was the winner of the two most prestigious award categories:

Best Italian Indie Game of the Year

Best Game Design

Thank you all for your wonderful support for Blood on the Snow.

For Sommerlund and the Kai!

Gary Chalk’s Gun Dogs

gundogs_icon_blog

Gary Chalk and Tin Man Games have released a new gamebook app named Gary Chalk’s Gun Dogs.

So what is Gun Dogs and why should you read it? Jamie first approached us in 2011 and proposed a number of titles in collaboration with Gary. Gun Dogs shone out as something rather special and they both began work designing the world, with Jamie putting down the words and Gary sharpening the pencils and mixing the paints. It takes the traditional fantasy world of magic and monsters and twists it around a little, adding in a semi-renaissance flavour and most importantly the invention of guns! The story sees you charged with treason against the Empire and placed on death row. The Emperor has offered you a choice: die a slow and humiliating death or serve as a Gun Dog, an expendable soldier assigned impossible missions and tethered by a collar. Not just any collar mind you, but a magical device around your neck that will choke you to death if you disobey your orders. The story takes you across The Empire from Lentica to your destination at Fort Wylde, on a mission in which you meet many strange inhabitants of the world and visit bustling cities and dangerous forests.

More information available on the Tin Man Games website.
